Welcome to CARRIE

CARRIE (Churches Action for Refugee Resettlement in Exeter) is a partnership of local churches in Exeter working together to help refugee families find safety and rebuild their lives in the UK.

The initiative began in 2017 when members of Belmont Chapel, Exeter Network Church, and Exeter Vineyard Church came together with a shared desire to respond to the global refugee crisis. Through the Government’s Community Sponsorship Scheme, CARRIE has been able to welcome families who have spent years in refugee camps and support them as they make Exeter their new home.

Resettled families have gone on to gain qualifications, find work, and become part of the local community. Most importantly, they now have a safe place to call home.
